I'm Alex Applefield-Alvarez, a global citizen passionate about education, sustainability, and social justice.
I'm also a sociologist with a master's degree in international public management, a lover of food, nature, and scuba diving.
I've been working internationally on social entrepreneurship and educational issues since 2007 and in 2017, I founded a not-for-profit organization in Colombia called Todos Podemos.
I created Start Today to support those who feel overwhelmed, trapped and often powerless in an unfair and unsustainable society. In this context, it's increasingly difficult to know how you can make a difference as an individual. The gap between our values and our everyday life affects our peace and our joy, causing mental, physical and relationship tension. But it doesn't have to be that way. There are millions of us, and we have the power to shape the world we want to live in!
That's why I decided to leverage my experience and build this community, where simple and practical solutions can be implemented and shared while having fun in the process.
My dream is to contribute to a better world, and I hope I can do so by helping you build it!
